The name "Sri Surya Pahar" translates to "the sacred hill of the Sun," indicating its association with Sun worship.
The site spans approximately 1400 acres and offers a panoramic view of the Brahmaputra River and the confluence of the Dudhnoi and Krishna rivers. Archaeological excavations have revealed numerous artifacts dating back to the 5th to 12th centuries CE, including terracotta and stone sculptures. The presence of these diverse religious artifacts suggests that Sri Surya Pahar was a confluence of different faiths and cultures in ancient times.
