Yashwant Gad Fort

Yashwantgad Fort, also known as Redi Fort, is a historic fort located in Redi, Maharashtra, near the Maharashtra-Goa border. Perched on a small hill north of Jaitapur Creek, the fort offers stunning views of the southern Maharashtra coast. It is surrounded by lush greenery and the tranquil Arabian Sea, making it a serene getaway for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.

The fort was built during the Maratha Empire in the 17th century and has a rich history. It was initially controlled by the Bijapur Sultanate, later captured by the Portuguese, and eventually came under the control of the Maratha Confederacy. The British East India Company took over the fort in 1765, and it was later handed over to the locals in 1890.
