3-Night Stay Review: The Westin Himalayas Rishikesh

If you’ve been eyeing a luxury mountain escape in India, The Westin Himalayas Rishikesh is probably already on your radar. Tucked away in the serene hills near Rishikesh, this Marriott property has quickly become one of the most talked-about resorts and for good reason.

I recently spent 3 nights / 4 days here (fully booked on points), and here’s a complete, honest breakdown of the experience.

The journey itself sets the tone.

A scenic drive winding up into the hills leads you to a massive, beautifully designed property that instantly feels exclusive. Unlike typical hotels, this one truly feels like a destination resort quiet, expansive, and deeply connected to nature.

The Westin Resort and Spa

If your idea of a vacation is slowing down, breathing fresh mountain air, and disconnecting from the chaos, this place nails it.

One of the highlights of the stay.

Thanks to Gold status, I got upgraded to a higher room category and it was absolutely worth it.

  • Spacious, modern interiors with premium finishes
  • Thoughtfully designed layout with plenty of natural light
  • Private balcony with breathtaking mountain views

Easily one of the better room experiences across Indian Marriott properties. Waking up to mist-covered hills from your balcony is something you won’t forget anytime soon.

The Westin Resort and Spa

Breakfast is served at Akasa, the resort’s all-day dining restaurant.

  • Extensive spread: Indian, continental, and healthy options
  • Fresh ingredients and well-balanced variety
  • Quality generally matches the premium positioning

The Westin Resort and Spa Breakfast

The only letdown? The tea. Surprisingly average for a place of this caliber - they could definitely improve this small but important detail. Still, overall breakfast is lavish and satisfying.

The Westin Resort and Spa

The pool area is where the resort truly shines.

  • Gorgeous infinity-style pool overlooking the hills
  • Heated water makes it usable throughout the day
  • Calm, relaxing vibe perfect for unwinding

There’s also a dedicated kids play area, making it a great choice for families. Whether you're a couple seeking tranquility or traveling with kids, the resort balances both really well.

The Westin Resort and Spa

One of the most underrated parts of the experience.

  • Complimentary hi-tea every evening
  • Live music paired with stunning mountain views
  • Light snacks with tea/coffee

This is the perfect transition from day to evening, especially after exploring or lounging by the pool.

The Westin Resort and Spa Pool

The resort hosts a daily Ganga Aarti from an elevated viewpoint, overlooking the valley.

  • Peaceful, spiritual atmosphere
  • Unique hilltop perspective
  • Beautifully organized

It’s not just an activity - it’s an experience that elevates your entire stay.

Evenings are best spent at Heaven Lounge.

  • Stunning setting, especially during sunset
  • Live music enhances the vibe
  • Excellent food and drinks

Easily one of the best spots on the property for unwinding with a view.

The Westin Resort

Located about 45–60 minutes from Jolly Grant Airport, the resort offers a perfect balance of accessibility and seclusion.

Final Thoughts

The Westin Himalayas Rishikesh is easily one of the best luxury resort experiences in India right now, especially if you’re using Marriott Bonvoy points.

It delivers on almost everything - scenery, comfort, experiences, and overall vibe.
