Named after Sir Arthur Malet, who used to sit here mourning the loss of his wife and daughter in a tragic accident, Arthur's Seat is a place of historical and cultural significance. The area is also known for the phenomenon where light objects, like a cap, float back when thrown into the air due to the unique air pressure.
