Chaityabhoomi, also known as Chaitya Bhoomi, is a revered Buddhist chaitya and the cremation site of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a prominent leader in the revival of Buddhism in India.
Located beside Dadar Chowpatty in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Chaityabhoomi is a significant pilgrimage site for Ambedkar's followers, who visit in millions annually on his death anniversary, observed as Mahaparinirvan Diwas on December 6th.
The structure of Chaityabhoomi includes a square-shaped building with a small dome, divided into ground and mezzanine floors. Inside, there is a circular wall about 1.5 meters in height, housing the bust of Ambedkar and a statue of Gautam Buddha. The main entrance gate is a replica of the Gate of the Stupa of Sanchi, and inside, there is a replica of the Ashoka Pillar.
