The fort was originally a grand five-story structure featuring nine rooms on each floor, with a water-gate, moat, royal court, treasury, and a prison cell with an underground dungeon. It also included a separate residence for the queen with a pond and a secret tunnel for discreet access.
The fort reflects Mughal architectural influences and is surrounded by forests, hills, and rivers, offering a strategic defensive location. Archaeological excavations have uncovered subterranean palaces, tunnels, and secret chambers, revealing the fort's historical and architectural richness.
