Pali Ganpati Mandir
Ballaleshwar Ganpati Temple, popularly known as Pali Ganpati Mandir, is located in the quaint village of Pali in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. This temple is one of the revered Ashtavinayak Temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Distinctively, it is the only Ganesha temple named after a devotee – Ballal.
The temple's architecture is notable with its east-facing structure, designed meticulously so that the first rays of the rising sun fall directly on the deity. Originally constructed out of wood, it was renovated in 1760 to be a stone temple.
The temple’s iconic pillar design resembles the shape of the letter 'Shri', and its walls were built by mixing lead with the cement for enhanced durability.
