Sivasagar Lake, also known as Bhorpukhuri, is the second largest lake in Assam and was constructed in 1734 by Queen Ambika, the chief consort of Ahom king Swargadeo Siba Singha. It covers around 130 to 257 acres and is surrounded by deep earthen moats, with water levels remaining stable throughout the year.
